- Summary: Problems with using internal modem
- Keywords: Winfax Reachout Closeup USR Sportster
- X-Newsreader: TIN [version 1.2 PL2]
-
- Windows 3.1 on a 486
- MSD: COM1 = 03F8H, COM2 = 02E8H
- I don't think these addresses ar normal.
-
- mouse uses COM1, USR 14.4 internal Sport uses COM2 IRQ3
- Winfax Pro faxes OK
- Windows Terminal dials OK
- but DOS> echo ATDT > COM2 says error writing to COM2
- and Reachout and Closeup don't work
- before running Winfax, Reachout diagnostics can find modem
- after using Winfax, Reachout diagnostics believes : "no working modem"
- (Winfax autoanswere is *off*)
-
- It used to work OK but not since upgrading Winfax Pro and installing Reachout
-
- Any suggestions on what to check or what utilities to use to check it
- will be greatly appreciated.
-
- Thanks.
